Clapham & Collinge pledges to support The Benjamin Foundation’s Sleep Out

Last year, Clapham & Collinge teamed up with The Benjamin Foundation to host the charity's first large scale 'Sleep Out' in Norwich. The event saw 70 people spend a night sleeping in Clapham & Collinge's city centre car-park and raised £17,000 for the organisation. This year's 'Norwich Sleep Out' is taking place in the car park of Marsh, on Queens Road in Norwich and to demonstrate their continued support to the charity, members of the Clapham & Collinge team will be taking part once again.

Louis Hilldrup-Boorman, Marketing Manager said: ''having braved the elements at last year's Sleep Out, I'm proud to support the event once again. Although one night will never replicate the hardship faced by those who are homeless, it does give you a flavour of what it might be like to be homeless, whilst raising vital funds for a charity who supports vulnerable young adults in Norfolk and soon Suffolk too. I'll definitely be bringing my waterproofs this year!''

Chris Elliott from The Benjamin Foundation said: ''it's great to have Clapham & Collinge staff supporting our biggest fundraising event of the year once again. The money raised will help us provide extra training and practical items for many of the local young adults we help when they're ready to move into their own place.''

For more than 21 years the charity has been helping people across Norfolk, and more recently into Suffolk, to deal with some of the challenges that life throws at them; from 'everyday' problems such as finding affordable childcare or training, to heart-breaking issues like homelessness, bullying or abuse. Every service The Benjamin Foundation delivers is focused on providing hope, opportunity, stability and independence.

The Sleep Out will take place on Friday 11th November from 7.00pm through to 7.00am the following day. For full information about the event and to sign up visit benjaminfoundation.co.uk/sleep-out. There is a limit of 150 places and those taking part need to pay a registration fee of £25 and then raise a minimum of a further £100 in sponsorship.
