Clapham & Collinge wears it red by taking part in Red Cross Week and showing the power of kindness

We raised £102.29 by putting on a "Wear it Red" day at our Norwich office as part of Red Cross Week, supporting British Red Cross.

The event, which took place on Thursday 10th May, included wearing as much red as possible and tea and cake made by staff members.

Louis Hilldrup-Boorman, Marketing Manager at Clapham & Collinge said "We are really proud to have raised this money for an amazing charity such as the British Red Cross." He adds; "We really enjoyed being part of Red Cross Week and hope the money we raised will help as many local people as possible."

Paul Fleet, Senior Community Fundraiser for British Red Cross in Norfolk and Suffolk said "I would like to thank Louis and all the staff at Clapham & Collinge for taking part in Red Cross Week and raising money for our local services. 'Wear it Red' can be done any time of the year and I would encourage other local businesses to get involved." He adds; "All money raised will go towards our local services such as First Aid, Mobility Aids and Emergency Services"

The British Red Cross is calling on people in Suffolk and Norfolk to demonstrate the power of kindness by getting involved in their own fundraising, by doing one kind act a day, and raising vital funds for people in crisis.

Paul said: "It doesn't matter if it's a flood, a first aid emergency or loneliness, when crisis strikes, whatever the scale, there's always an impact on individuals. It's easy to feel helpless when a crisis hits, whether you're personally affected or watching the crisis on TV and wondering how you could help. At the Red Cross we connect people's kindness with people in crisis, by helping people to raise money, volunteer or campaign for issues that matter. Even small acts of kindness can be powerful, and we'd love you to get involved.''

"You can download your kindness calendar from www.redcross.org.uk and fill in each day with a kind act – such as signing up to shake a fundraising bucket, holding an office cake sale, or even something as simple as making someone a cup of tea or giving them a compliment. You could also double your kindness by getting sponsored to do it! You can do this as a team, or individually, it's up to you. "We're hoping to create a wave of kindness, so inspire others by sharing your kind acts on social media using #PowerOfKindness."
