IT Apprentice joins Clapham & Collinge during National Apprenticeship Week

This week is National Apprenticeship Week, which celebrates the impact of apprenticeships on individuals, employers and the economy; the perfect week to welcome our first apprentice Jasmin Barnes. Jasmin has joined Clapham & Collinge as an IT Apprentice, supporting our IT Manager Jamie Pearson with the general IT functions of the firm.

Jasmin works closely with our IT Manager Jamie Pearson to provide administrative assistance and IT support across all areas of the business. Jamie said: ''We are proud to be supporting the apprenticeship scheme and are thrilled Jasmin has joined our growing IT department, this is a fantastic opportunity for Jasmin to turn her passion into a long term career in Legal IT.''

Jasmin said: ''I'm grateful for this amazing opportunity here at Clapham & Collinge. IT has always been a passion of mine, it's a real insight to see what goes on behind the scenes and all the different areas that IT gets involved in. I'm looking forward to developing my knowledge and working towards my professional qualification in IT.''

Louis Hilldrup-Boorman, Marketing Manager said: ''As a former Marketing Apprentice, I'm delighted Clapham & Collinge Solicitors are supporting the Apprenticeship scheme and have recruited our first apprentice. At 16 years of age, I had no idea what I wanted to do and which path to take. University? College? I had never really given an apprenticeship any thought. After leaving school, I followed many of my fellow pupils and took A-Levels with the intention of going to university. The truth is, I was never 100% sold on the idea of going to university because I was ready to get stuck into the world of work, earn money and gain some independence. On the other hand I wasn't prepared to completely abandon my education, so I decided to look into alternatives. I came across a few apprenticeship positions which caught my eye and decided to apply. The concept of gaining practical on-the-job experience whilst studying towards a qualification and earning a wage was very appealing!

11 years later, I can honestly say it was the best decision I ever made. I am incredibly proud of my apprenticeship roots, which helped me to carve a successful career. This is a fantastic opportunity for Jasmin and I'm sure she has a great career ahead of her at Clapham & Collinge.''
